Bio:
James focuses his practice on complex trust and estate litigation, with a particular emphasis on disputes involving high net worth individuals, fiduciary misconduct, trust and estate taxation, and financial abuse. His experience spans trust contests, elder abuse actions, accounting disputes, conservatorships, and the mismanagement of trust assets. James draws on over a decade of experience as a Certified Public Accountant advising fiduciaries, beneficiaries, and family offices on tax-efficient wealth transfers, trust administration, and compliance. Before practicing law, James worked for 10 years in public accounting, specializing in ultra-high net worth trust and estate tax planning, financial reporting, and fiduciary income taxation. He now leverages this unique dual background to deliver strategic, financially grounded counsel in litigation involving trusts, estates, and closely held businesses. James is licensed as a CPA in California, Florida, and Oregon. He graduated in the top 10% of his class from California Western School of Law in 2021.
